Trial Company, headquartered in Fukuoka City and operating supermarkets nationwide, has been found to have sold seafood with incorrect country-of-origin labels, such as labeling Taiwanese products as being from Shizuoka Prefecture. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, inappropriate labeling was confirmed at three Trial-operated stores in Sapporo City and Iwamizawa City, Hokkaido. Specifically, at the “Super Center Iwamizawa Store,” it was found that between May and July, bigeye tuna from Taiwan was sold with labels indicating it was from Shizuoka Prefecture. Source: KBC
