Visitors to Hakozakigu’s Hojoya festival can receive a 20% rail fare discount by using credit card tap-to-pay at two nearby JR stations. The offer covers Hakozaki and Yoshizuka stations during the Sept. 12–18 festival. Sumitomo Mitsui Card announced the service on Sept. 8. Passenger traffic during the festival typically reaches about 1.7 times normal levels, and the initiative aims to reduce ticket machine queues. The company describes it as Japan’s first event-linked discount of this kind and hopes to expand the service. Source: TNC News / JR Kyushu
