Ten lanterns were introduced to Hakata Old Town to add to the charms of the district. The 50-centimeter high wooden lantern was designed with the concept of kazari yamakasa decorative floats for the region’s traditional summer festival, Hakata Gion Yamakasa. While the first ten items have been introduced in front of Hakata Machiya Folk Museum and more, sixty more units of the atmospheric lamp will light the street after the ongoing state of emergency gets lifted.
