Thai AirAsia Launches Direct Flights between Fukuoka and Bangkok

Amid expectations of an increase in foreign tourists due to the easing of border controls, Thai AirAsia today began direct flights between Fukuoka and Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. There will be three flights per week. The first flight arrived at Fukuoka Airport at around 8:30 a.m. today and was welcomed by the airport’s firefighting vehicles on the runway, which formed an archway with water. After that, about 170 tourists and business travelers showed up at the arrival lobby, where airport staff welcomed them with a banner. According to Fukuoka Airport, the number of international flights is currently about one-third of what it was before the pandemic. Source: AirAsia / NHK
