Three Kagoshima Patients Test Positive for COVID19 Variant

Kagoshima Prefecture reported on Feb. 16 that the more recent variety of the U.K. coronavirus strain was detected in three female patients in the area. The women had contact with patients of the same type of the new coronavirus variant before developing symptoms. The prefecture explained that some other residents who made contact with them tested positive for the new coronavirus; however, the same variant was not detected as of Feb. 16. It was the first detection of the U. K. virus variant in Kyushu. Source: Mainichi / 373 News.com / NHK
