Tokyo Olympic Karate Competitor from Fukuoka Indicted for Sexual Assault

Ken Nishimura, a 28-year-old karate athlete from Fukuoka who represented Japan in the Tokyo Olympics, has been indicted by the Osaka District Public Prosecutors Office for sexually assaulting a woman who was unable to resist. According to the indictment, around 2022, Nishimura is accused of sexually assaulting a woman who was in a state where she could not resist, and further injuring her through sexual assault. He faces charges of quasi-forcible sexual intercourse resulting in injury and forcible sexual intercourse resulting in injury. The Osaka District Public Prosecutors Office has not disclosed whether Nishimura has admitted to the charges.
