Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation began full operation of its biomass plant in Omuta City on Jan. 11. The company had established Sigma Power Ariake Corporation (SPAC) in 2019 as the operating company of the twin facilities, capable of generating up to 44.2 MW (the equivalent of supplying around 70,000 homes) from coconut shells.
