Tosu, Saga Woman Crowned Miss International

Ikumi Yoshimatsu from Tosu, Saga Prefecture won the 2012 Miss International Beauty Pageant. This years pageant was held in Okinawa and more than 60 women competed for the title. The Miss International Beauty Pageant prides itself on having contestants who serve as ‘Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty’.

Yoshimatsu’s court was, First Runner-Up, Viivi Suominen (Finland), Second Runner-Up, Madusa Mayadunne (Sri Lanka), Third Runner-Up, Melody Mir (Dominican Republic), and rounding out the Top Five was Fourth Runner-Up, Nicole Huber (Paraguay).

Yoshimatsu has been on the pageant scene since 2007, when she participated in Miss Universe Japan. From there, she has entered and participated in various pageants, often earning a spot in the top selections but not winning, until now. The 25 year old beauty queen enjoys running, yoga, reading, watching movies, and her special skill is English. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun Oct 22
