The Kyushu Regional Strategy Council announced plans to develop a new bicycle race to promote regional tourism. The members of the body, who are composed of the Kyushu Governor’s Association members, agreed at a meeting on November 6 to introduce sport-related activities that will be highly effective in attracting more tourists from areas such as the US and European countries. This will be the first project to develop an inter-prefectural bicycle race in Kyushu, and the council hopes to use the excitement of recent Rugby World Cup to further promote Kyushu as a tourist destination.
