Hiroshima-based Toyo Cork, which manufactures foam resin for the auto industry, announced it will build a new plant in Kitakyushu. Auto companies are responding to the increased demand for better fuel consumption performance by using lighter parts, so the company sees an opportunity for greater sales to its customers.
