Fukuoka Prefecture and Trial Company signed an agreement on Oct. 6 to support people sheltering in their cars during disasters. At the prefecture’s request, about 40 of Trial’s 82 stores in Fukuoka could open their parking lots for overnight evacuation. Support would also include access to toilets, water and supplies. It is the prefecture’s first corporate agreement to include overnight evacuation in vehicles. The governor said bringing evacuees together would make it easier to deliver assistance.
