TSMC Backs Kumamoto Students

Kumamoto University announced on June 10 that it will partner with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) to support graduate students attending overseas training programs and international academic conferences. The new Travel Award program is part of a collaboration agreement signed in 2024 and aims to strengthen the development of globally competitive semiconductor talent. Funding from Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing (JASM), the operator of TSMC’s Kumamoto plant, will cover transportation, accommodation, and participation fees within approved limits. Eligible master’s and doctoral students with sufficient English proficiency may apply, with recruitment continuing until the annual budget is exhausted. Source: Nikkei / Kumamoto Nichinichi Shimbun
