TSMC Subsidiary Welcomes 125 New Employees in Kumamoto

JASM, a subsidiary of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), held its first-ever entrance ceremony in Kumamoto City for 125 new employees graduating from universities and graduate schools. JASM President Yuichi Horita urged new employees to approach their work with a sense of mission, as TSMC’s expansion into Kumamoto could serve as an opportunity for growth in Japan’s semiconductor industry. The new factory in Kumamoto is expected to employ around 1,700 people, including new graduates and mid-career hires, with a focus on local hiring. Production at the new factory is scheduled to begin in late 2023, with full-scale shipments starting in December 2024. Source: Nikkei / TKU
