Taiwanese Residents in Kumamoto Triple in Six Months Due to TSMC

The number of Taiwanese residents in Kumamoto Prefecture has more than tripled in six months, reaching 1,549 by the end of 2023, driven by the influx of TSMC employees. Kumamoto Prefecture reported a record 25,589 foreign residents at the end of 2023, a 23.9% increase from the previous year.
