Miike Coal Mine, a UNESCO world heritage site located in Omuta, Fukuoka Prefecture, suffered severe damage after recent torrential rains. According to Omuta City, the record-setting rain caused landslides at fifteen spots along with the remains of the Miike Coal Railway, and partially covering the tracks with sand.
