‘Itokao’ is a newly-opened bookstore in Itoshima, involving many local shop owners from different backgrounds. The shop’s sizable wooden bookshelf is divided into 100 sections. Each section can be rented for ¥1,800~/month. The library was produced by two people who moved to Itoshima from elsewhere in Japan and is expected to become a new attraction for the Maebaru shotengai area and a spot to foster communication and interaction in the community.
