Fukuoka Now previously reported on Costco application to open a new store in Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu. The application has been approved and construction will begin this month. The store will open at the end of March 2013 at Honjyo Gakkendai 1-chome, Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu. The building will cover 10,266 square meters and will offer 867 parking spots making it approximately the same size as the Costco in Hisayama, Fukuoka which was the first Costco to open in Japan back in 1999.
