Visitors From Korea to Western Japan Down

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) released a report on the number of Korean visitors to Japan in August 2019, showing a sharp drop in the areas of western Japan. The number of Korean visitors at Fukuoka Airport decreased by 49.4% compared to the same month in 2018, while Hakata Port saw an even steeper fall of 60.6%, which was above the national average of 48%. Ninety-five flights between Kyushu and Korea are cancelled weekly as of September. Source: JNTO, 9/18/2019
