During the first weekend after the lifting of the state of emergency in Fukuoka, 40% more people visited Tenjin on May 16, compared to the week before. Research by Agoop Corp. revealed approximately 26,000 daily visitors at an area around Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station (Tenjin) on Saturday. The region saw the largest increase compared to other cities in the nation. On the same day, trains on the Nishitetsu Omuta Line returned to its regular operating schedule. Half of the weekend trains had been canceled between Apr. 18 ~ May 10. Fukuoka Prefecture announced one re-infection case of the new coronavirus on May 15.
