Volunteer Tests Positive for COVID19 After Contacting 400 Evacuees

Kumamoto Prefecture announced on July 13 that a civil servant from Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, tested positive with the novel coronavirus after returning from his disaster-relief mission in Kumamoto City. In his thirties, the health worker stayed in Kumamoto City between Jul. 8 ~ 12 and worked at two evacuation shelters in Hitoyoshi City and Taragi Town. He reportedly showed no symptoms at the time. Two other staff members who took the same business trip had tested negative. Kumamoto Prefecture disinfected the shelters and is now conducting PCR tests for those who wish.
