Kitakyushu City announced five confirmed cases of the new coronavirus infection over the weekend (June 6 ~ 7.) Amongst the new patients was a man, who had been hospitalized at a local hospital. Transmission routes for all five cases are unknown. As of June 7, Kitakyushu City has recorded new infections daily for 16 consecutive days, for a total of 140 instances.
