Yaskawa Electric announced on May 11 the release of its new collaborative robot, the “MOTOMAN-HC35,” designed to handle heavier industrial and logistics tasks alongside human workers. The new model can carry up to 35 kilograms, about 70% more than previous versions, making it the company’s largest collaborative robot to date. Its arm can extend nearly two meters, roughly 10 centimeters farther than earlier models. Yaskawa expects the robot to be used in warehouses for transporting boxes and in manufacturing lines equipped with screw-fastening tools for automotive parts assembly. Collaborative robots are designed to stop immediately upon contact with people, improving workplace safety.
