Zenrin Experiment Drone Flight With 3D Map

Map publishing company Zenrin (Kitakyushu City) and New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) conducted their first demonstration experiment of a drone automatic flight support system on June 2. This was done using a three dimensional map at a school site in Kitakyushu City. Zenrin is developing measures such as a “3D map data to show safe flight course for drones”, “drone control program using mobile communication networks” and more to make use of an automatic flight support system. These measures are aimed to help in solving social issues such as delivery of supplies to remote locations during disasters. Source: Zenrin, 6/2/2017
