A zero-CO2 emission scooter developed by high-school students in Dazaifu City received authorization to run on the public roads. On Dec. 3, the four students at Chikushidai High School visited the city’s mayor to report their invention and received a registration plate for the bike. The young engineers developed an original 1,100 watts motor to allow the bike to climb up 17-degree slopes without a gasoline engine, using hand-wound coils and self-developed measuring equipment.
