Feel the American spirit this weekend at this year’s American Festival in Sasebo! Classic American gourmet will be on offer from food and drink booths. The festival is packed with events happening across three parks: Sasebo burger eating contest, baby crawling race, softball and basketball tournaments, and more. Various dance and musical performances from local and popular artists will be there, too, including this year’s special guest, singer Thelma Aoyama. Other performances include skateboard and BMX exhibition on the streets. Bike crazy? Don’t miss the huge gathering of Harley Davidson motorbikes at Sasebo Park. The festival will close with a bang – fireworks display from 20:45 on Sunday.

AMERICAN FESTIVAL CANCELLED
We regret to announce that due to the approaching Tropical Storm 20W (Typhoon Talim) the American Festival has been cancelled.
The decision to cancel the festival was a very hard one but necessary to protect everyone from the heavy rains and destructive force winds that are expected. We’re sorry that we cannot put on the festival for you and for the missed opportunity to celebrate with our Japanese friends and neighbors from the Sasebo community.
