Fukuoka City Starts Shopping Support for Elderly

In January, Fukuoka City started a transport support program for elderly residents. Starting in Higashi-ku, volunteer drivers and caretakers will be based in the Kasumigaoka school area and help elderly residents with shopping and other services. Under current plans, approximately 70 elderly people will be supported by 10 volunteers three days a week. The City hopes to spread services into other areas. Source: Fukuoka City, 4 Jan. 2016
