The Fukuoka City-based Nishi-Nippon City Bank has formed a special department to specialize in financial support to local companies that want to establish an overseas presence or conduct exporting operations. Bank departments of this type are unusual in Japan, and it is the first in Kyushu. The objective is to help local businesses grow by tapping into Asian markets in the face of declining domestic demand.
