The Fukuoka branch of Tokyo Shokoh Research released their April statistics for corporate bankruptcies with more than 10 million yen in liabilities in Kyushu and Okinawa Prefecture. The statistics show there were only 63 bankruptcies for the month, 27.5% down from the year-before period and the 15th consecutive monthly decline. It was the lowest level for April bankruptcies since 1973. The aggregate liabilities of bankrupt firms totaled 10.341 billion, a 34.3% decline.
