At Fukuoka Now’s Nippon Now! party, we held Fukuoka’s first ever sumo suit wrestling tournament! Men and women of all nationalities took part, including Indian, American, Cambodian, British, French, Japanese, Egyptian, Canadian. A grand total of 24 people stepped up to the mat, eight of whom fought in the official Hakata Basho – the competitive segment of the tournament. (This makes the total number of bouts a whopping 45!) After some tense matches, Jody Archer (British, owner of Fubar) proved victorious. Congratulations, Jody!
