Dazaifu and Yanagawa are two of Kyushu’s most scenic cities, each famed for their beauty. Dazaifu plays host to Dazaifu Tenmangu, a shrine that is as magnificent as it is ancient. Yanagawa, meanwhile, is commonly dubbed the ‘Venice of Japan’, with its long canals and ancient puntsmen Luckily for us, the Nishitetsu Company have released a one-day train ticket that makes it possible to see both of these fantastic areas together at a significantly discounted rate. Tickets can be purchased at Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and Yakuin Station. Ticket issuing may take time, so please arrive at the counter well in advance of your train.

You may have seen Nishitetsu’s special Dazaifu Train pulling into Fukuoka Station before. This sakura-adorned train named ‘Tabito’ regularly makes the journey between Fukuoka (Tenjin) and Dazaifu and has many special Dazaifu-related features, including a unique Dazaifu stamping station.
