Dosimeters (devices used to measure levels of ionized radiation) are to be set-up at monitoring posts in Tsushima (Nagasaki Prefecture) and Yonaguni (Okinawa Prefecture) by March next year. The posts will track any nuclear tests in North Korea or nuclear-related accidents in South Korea, while calculating any abnormalities in the level of radiation in the atmosphere. This is the first time that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has sought to establish monitoring posts in preparation for overseas incidents. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 7/25/2017
