Yakitori restaurant chain Hachibei, based in Fukuoka, announced its plan to open 100 new locations domestically and internationally within five years. The chain, which currently operates 13 outlets mainly in Fukuoka, has entered into a basic agreement with nationwide chain Torikizoku for collaboration. On June 20, both companies revealed their strategy to expand under the Hachibei name, with Torikizoku assisting in property acquisition and recruitment. Hachibei CEO Yashima Katsunori expressed his long-held aspiration for global expansion and plans to open an academy to train personnel in advanced yakitori techniques.
