Experience the Grandeur of Asia’s Largest Hot Air Balloon Festival: Held every year in early November, this international hot air balloon competition is the largest of its kind in Asia. A total of 128 colorful balloons from around the world will fill the autumn sky, offering a sight to behold.
Special highlights include “Balloon Fantasia,” featuring popular characters and animals transformed into gigantic balloons, and “La Montgolfier Nocturne,” a night tethering event scheduled for November 3rd and 4th from 18:30 to 19:00. Throughout the festival, daily “Balloon Classes” are available from 13:00 to 14:00, no reservation required. Here, participants can join pilots and crew in inflating a hot air balloon with hot air from burners and learn the mechanics of how balloons work.
In addition, a market called “Umakamon Ichiba” will be open on-site, selling Saga’s special agricultural and seafood products, as well as local cuisine. The festival also features a Trial Bike Show on November 2nd and 3rd, where world-class riders will showcase their skills in clearing obstacles with dazzling techniques. Don’t miss this annual celebration of aerial spectacle and local culture.
