Fukuoka Governor Unveils ¥2.18 Trillion Budget Proposal

Fukuoka Governor Seitaro Hattori has released the first full-year general budget of his second term, totaling ¥2.1878 trillion—up 3% from the previous year. The plan includes expanded childcare support and educational investments, such as funding for free preschool for third and subsequent children, and air conditioning design for prefectural high school gymnasiums.

Additional allocations include support for local youth gathering in downtown parks, promotion of “One Health” education through children’s books, and funds to explore creating a national-level sports training center in Hakata. The prefecture aims to have the budget approved in the June regular assembly session. Source: NHK
