Fukuoka Expands Nanakuma Line Service

Fukuoka City announced a “congestion relief project” starting with increased service on the Nanakuma Line. From August 4, six additional round trips will run between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays, reducing rush-hour congestion from about 120% to 100%. Further expansions are planned next fiscal year with new train cars. The city will also roll out real-time parking availability services and improve urban roads to address growing traffic pressures from population and tourism increases. Source: Fukuoka City Subway
