Fukuoka Condo Rumors Denied by Prefecture

Fukuoka Prefecture said on September 22 it has received about 100 complaints regarding a proposed condominium project in Asakura City. The backlash followed online claims that most residents would come from China and Taiwan to settle permanently and that the governor had approved the plan. The prefecture clarified no such approval has been issued. The project site, beside a golf course in the Kakibaru district, was subject to an application for a required certificate in July 2023, but it was not granted, and no further consultations have taken place. Officials confirmed during a September 19 visit that no demolition or land development work has begun. Source: Fukuoka Prefecture
