The Fukuoka City Transportation Bureau announced on December 18 that subway services will operate overnight in the early hours of January 1, 2026, to support New Year events and shrine visits. A total of 30 special services will run between midnight and around 2 a.m., including 20 trains on the Airport and Hakozaki lines and 10 on the Nanakuma Line. The latest departures include a 2:42 a.m. train from Tenjin Station on the Airport Line and a 2:25 a.m. train from Hakata Station on the Nanakuma Line. Around 3,000 passengers used similar overnight services during the previous New Year period. From December 30 to January 4, regular services will follow weekend and holiday schedules.
