MrMax Profit Jumps on Strong Private-Brand Sales

MrMax Holdings reported a 24% rise in net profit for the March–November 2025 period, reaching ¥23 billion, supported by growth in private-brand product sales. Operating revenue increased 9% to a record ¥110.8 billion, driven by higher customer traffic during the retailer’s 100th anniversary sales campaign in October. The ratio of private-brand products rose to 23.1%, helping improve gross margins. Operating profit also climbed 24% to ¥36 billion, aided by lower logistics costs after consolidating manufacturing bases. While sales of low-margin rice products were stronger than expected, the company said margin improvements offset the impact.
