A long-running plant fair held in Kurume, a city with over 300 years of horticultural heritage dating back to the Edo period. Known as one of Japan’s top tree-growing regions, Kurume hosts 15 leading local nurseries for this event. Around 100,000 plants representing 1,000 species—from garden trees to ornamental houseplants—will be available for viewing and purchase. Visitors can speak directly with growers to learn care and maintenance tips.
Workshops suitable for beginners, including moss ball (kokedama), swag, and succulent arrangements, will take place during the event. On Saturday the 14th at 13:00, a live plant auction offers a rare glimpse into professional plant trading. Food trucks will also be on site.
