A nighttime illumination event set along the historic Buzen Kaidō, where traditional Japanese umbrellas, bamboo sculptures, and thousands of candles gently light up the street. The area is bathed in a warm glow, quietly evoking the charm of a bygone era. At the Important Cultural Property Yachiyoza Theater, the stage performance “Yamaga Fuzei Monogatari” features Yamaga taiko drumming and the Yamaga lantern dance (20:30–21:30 / ¥1,000 / free for elementary school children and younger).
The main venue at the Sakura-yu multipurpose plaza hosts food stalls serving warm meals—ideal for a break while strolling. A unique evening event combining lights, traditional performing arts, and townscape exploration.
