Kyushu University, Glasgow Launch Joint Program

Kyushu University announced it will establish a joint academic program with the University of Glasgow in October 2028, focusing on global environmental and social issues. The new department, tentatively named the Kyushu University–Glasgow University Joint Program, will operate across both institutions and offer a joint degree upon completion. The program will admit 10 students per year, split evenly between the two universities. Students will study in both Japan and the United Kingdom over four years, with coursework and research conducted across campuses. The initiative represents a rare collaboration model for Japanese national universities and aims to develop graduates equipped to address international sustainability challenges.
