Don Quijote operator Pan Pacific International Holdings (PPIH) will open its first souvenir-focused store on May 29 in Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture, targeting domestic tourists and inbound visitors. The new “Omiyage Donki 730COURT” store will open inside a commercial complex near Ishigaki Island’s ferry terminal, an area popular with travelers. Ishigaki City recorded a record 1.49 million visitors in 2025. The approximately 120-square-meter shop will stock around 1,500 selected souvenir items, including Okinawa-themed apparel, local confectionery, awamori liquor, glass crafts, and original Donpen character merchandise. The store will also offer parcel delivery services to allow visitors to continue sightseeing without carrying purchases. PPIH has recently expanded its range of specialty retail formats alongside its core discount store business. Source: Nikkei / PPIH
