Kitakyushu is distributing a free English-language tourism map designed to help international visitors explore the city. “NOW MAP KITAKYUSHU,” produced by the Kitakyushu Convention & Visitors Association, was created as a sister edition of the popular “NOW MAP FUKUOKA.” The pocket-sized folding guide opens into a full-color city map introducing major sightseeing spots in English, while QR codes provide access to additional information, including restaurant listings. According to the city, about 367,000 international travelers visited Kitakyushu in 2024, up 98,000 from the previous year. The map has been available since May at tourist information centers, accommodations, and other locations across the city. Organizers hope it will encourage overseas visitors to explore Kitakyushu on foot and discover more of its attractions. Source: Mainichi Shimbun
