&SAKE FUKUOKA 2026
~

Forty breweries from across Fukuoka Prefecture and 23 leading local restaurants come together at &SAKE FUKUOKA 2026, held at Fukuoka International Center on Sep 26 and 27. One of Kyushu’s largest drinks-and-food events, it turns the arena into a two-day tasting map of Fukuoka, pairing sake, shochu and liqueurs with dishes from local kitchens.

For the weekend, the hall is recast as one vast bar, with a central DJ booth and brewery stands spreading around it. Music, food and conversation give the room its rhythm as visitors compare pours, talk directly with the people behind the bottles and build their own route through Fukuoka’s drinking culture.

The format is welcoming even for those who rarely drink sake. Regular drinkers can seek out familiar breweries or new labels, while newcomers can simply describe what they enjoy and ask where to begin. Pairing each glass with dishes from the restaurant stands adds another layer, showing how Fukuoka’s drinks and food can bring out different qualities in one another.

Entry is free, but food and drinks are purchased with event coins, and alcoholic drinks are served in the dedicated event glass. Advance and same-day tickets include the glass and 16 food-and-drink coins, allowing visitors to sample at their own pace—from a first pour at an unfamiliar brewery to a pairing worth returning for.

General seating is available, but groups wanting a guaranteed base can reserve a second-floor table for a 2.5-hour session. The ¥6,000 ticket secures one table for up to six people; it does not include the standard food-and-drink ticket, which each adult must purchase separately. Food and drinks selected on the main floor can then be enjoyed together at the table.

Tip: Visitors planning to drink should use public transport. Alcohol is not sold to anyone under 20, and staff may ask for proof of age. Reserved-table tickets cover the table only, so each adult also needs an advance or same-day food-and-drink ticket.

At the center of the hall, a raised DJ booth styled as a festival yagura is encircled by individual brewery stands. The people who normally make the sake are often the ones pouring it here, giving visitors the chance to ask about each drink’s character, how to choose between labels and what food to try alongside it.
