Hakataori Juried Exhibition

This annual juried exhibition brings together new works of Hakataori, one of Hakata’s best-known traditional crafts. Held at Jotenji Temple, regarded as the birthplace of Hakataori, it showcases obi, kimono, and other pieces submitted by weaving houses and artists.
During the exhibition, Jotenji Temple, normally closed to the public, will also be specially opened. Visitors can view its karesansui dry landscape garden, browse Hakataori accessories and practical items for everyday use, and enjoy an outdoor tea gathering for ¥1,000.
