Junglia Okinawa Seeks New Investor

According to Nikkei, the operator of Junglia Okinawa will hold a shareholder meeting on October 30 to approve its delayed annual financial results as it seeks new investors. The theme park attracted fewer than 800,000 visitors in its first year, substantially below projections, while its operator reported a net loss of 17.3 billion yen for the fiscal year ending June 2026. The company recently secured a 3 billion yen bridge loan from the Okinawa Development Finance Corporation at a fixed annual interest rate of 6.9%, with a one-year repayment period. The park has also faced typhoon-related closures and damage to its Horizon Balloon attraction. Potential new investors include travel companies and investment funds, with shareholders indicating that at least 10 billion yen in additional capital may be required.
