Nearly One Quarter of Regional Companies to Shun New Graduates
The Nishinippon Shimbun surveyed 116 of the primary companies in Kyushu and Yamaguchi Prefecture about their plans to hire new graduates for the spring 2010. A total of 27, or 23.2% either plan to reduce their hires or not hire new graduates at all. Meanwhile, 40.5% of the companies said they plan to keep their hires at the same level as FY 2009, and 10 companies, or 8.6%, said they plan to increase their hiring of new graduates.
