Iwataya, Mitsukoshi to Revamp Food Corners

Iwataya-Mitsukoshi, the Fukuoka-based operator of the Iwataya and Mitsukoshi department stores in Tenjin, will improve the food floors in both stores with renovations. The Mitsukoshi renovations will be complete by Oct. 30 and will be the biggest in the store’s history. The revamped floor in Iwataya’s main building is slated to open on Nov. 27. The company aims to attract customers with enhanced options for prepared foods. New stores in Mitsukoshi will include Enya, a butcher shop that offers pre-made hamburgers that can be heated up in a frying pan, and Yaoichi, which will offer pre-cut vegetables. Iwataya’s renovations will focus on the butcher, seafood and fruits & vegetables counters on B1F. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 9/27
