The Japan Meteorological Agency announced on June 6 that rainy season has begun in both northern and southern Kyushu, which is one day later than usual for the north and six days later for the south. The weather front approaching from the west is likely to result in moist air flowing into the region which could create unstable weather conditions, heavy rainfall, and thunder and lightening in Kyushu during the first week of rainy season.
