Kurume Kasuri Ai, Ai, Deai (Indigo, Love, Encounter) Festival is returning for its 23rd edition. This is one of Japan’s largest festivals to focus on the traditional textile of Kurume. Approximately twenty five manufacturers and wholesalers set up stalls offering a variety of Kurume kasuri products on sales, attracting numerous fans of kasuri annually! Browse for clothes, accessories, fabrics, clothing scraps and more. Chikugo area’s famous confections, fresh vegetables and specialty products will be sold too. The festival is also a good chance to see Kurume kasuri clothes up close worn by visitors and exhibitors alike. If you have one, wear your Kurume Kasuri to get pictures by the professional photographer. Join hands-on workshops where guests can try making their own items.
